Birthday Wishes

The last birthday of my "20s" is quickly approaching. Not sure how I truely feel about this yet. The thought of actually being 30 does give me a sore stomach...probably because I remember celebrating my Dad's 30th. Granted I was only 3 or maybe 4 but still... Yes, I have a freakishly strange memory in case you were wondering. Anyway, we'll cross that bridge next year when it actually arrives. Instead we'll focus on the present which is, in 24 days I will be 29!!! Yipee!

For my birthday I would like one of these please!

j'adore

or just some of these:

Here is also a few exciting things people have accomplished by the age of 29:
  • The Buddha decided to renounce the world and abandon family and posessions. Seven years later, he realized this brought him no closer to the wisdom he sought.
  • Scottish-born inventor Alexander Graham Bell transmitted the first complete sentence by telephone.
  •
    this guy looks old for 29...
  • Agatha Christie, the most translated writer in the world, published her first book.
  • Michael Faraday demonstrated electromagnetic rotation, leading the way to the invention of the electric motor.
  • Blacksmith Kirkpatrick MacMillan invented the first real bicycle.
  • English novelist Emily Jane Bronte wrote the romance Wuthering Heights.
  • Singer-songwriter Carole King released her best-selling album Tapestry.
  • French naturalist George Dagobert founded the science of comparative anatomy.
  • Danielle Wilson....TBD
P.S. Happy Birthday Marta! Welcome to that last birthday of your "20's" club! xo

The Lord's Day

Isn't this what we long for each day, to be returned from this exile...

Micha 2:12-13

Deliverance Promised
 12 "I will surely gather all of you, O Jacob;
       I will surely bring together the remnant of Israel.
       I will bring them together like sheep in a pen,
       like a flock in its pasture;
       the place will throng with people.

 13 One who breaks open the way will go up before them;
       they will break through the gate and go out.
       Their king will pass through before them,
       the LORD at their head."

Fall Fashion in the South

Since Fashion's Night Out took place, which was a few weeks ago now, I've been dying to tap into my Fall wardrobe but for the folks that live in the South we all know that can be difficult since the weather doesn't cool down enough to enjoy our military jackets, fur, tights, or boots just yet but it does give us time to figure out what our hearts desire. This is what I'm dying to get my hands on for the fall!

Everything Italian

Bella Vita - Beautiful Life! I have fallen in love with everything ITALIAN. I don't really know what it is but I'm hooked. Everything from the culture, the people, food oh the food, and the language. Maybe it's because I am a quarter Italian. I guess I'm just connecting with my roots. For my 30th - which is next fall me-oh-my! - I will be taking a 2 week trip through Italy. I have been looking into the following trips: Rome - Amalfi Coast or this one through Monogram Tours. Who's coming with me??? Serious travelers inquire within.

In preparation of my trip I have also started to take Italian Lessons through The Language Academy of the Carolinas. It's an 8 week course that meets for 2 hours every Tuesdays. There are 6 others in my class and it's taught by a woman from Florence. She's fabulous! I love it and it's been a lot of fun! Ciao amici!!
